    When I was a child I got a doll that I had wished and hoped for all year and looking back my parents were not able to afford much for us by way of Christmas but they did whatever they could to get me that doll and I treasured it for many years.

  7. When I was 8, I woke up before everyone on Christmas and opened all my own presents… And everyone elses! I remember feeling really bad about it and I don’t remember what I said but it has been told as one of the best Christmas stories in our family.

    My fondest memory was this past Holiday season. Being home with both my kids for 12 days straight, it was just so wonderful. Sorry that tomorrow is back to the real world, ugh! But so grateful for that time. The best thing we did was sledding.

  15. My mom used to make popcorn balls and we would add food coloring to make them red and green. We also strung popcorn for garland for tree, but honestly we ate as much or more than we strung!

  19. This year was so great. My husband was able to get Christmas off for the first time in many years. He works at a hospital and its hard to get days off. We were able to stay in our PJ’s all day and play cards and games together. It was wonderful! The best by far.

  22. One of my fondest memories for Christmas was cooking for my family for the first time, since my mom and mom in law usually do it. I cooked, had the family over at our house, and watched the kids get so excited opening all of their presents.

  28. I actually think my happiest holiday memory was Christmas morning this year. 🙂 My daughter just turned two and so this was her first Christmas where she knew what was going on – basically. Seeing her come down the stairs to see what Santa brought her was just magical. There’s nothing like a child to make the holidays special.

    I remember waking up around 5am xmas morning with my father and feeding the homeless at the homeless shelter. He is passed away now and that is one of my greatest memories! Not the presents I received over the years but serving others!

    I wanted this set badly. I was looking at it a few weeks ago but didn’t really have the extra cash to splurge on myself until I knew what was ‘what’ for the kiddos for Christmas.
    my favorite memory was having thanksgiving with my mom and family, then black Frida y weekend we would get out tree and decorate it all weekend. it became a tradition. we had cathedral ceilings in the house that I grew up in, so the tree was always so tall and covered in gorgeous white lights and a white/cream theme. Miss those days 🙂

She passed shortly after Christmas in 2002. I just love the pictures from that time I had with her.
