Do you have fond memories of going to the circus as a child? If you do, you’re gonna love Circus 1903: The Golden Age of Circus playing for a very limited engagement at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre thru this Sunday, February 19, 2017. This show is a theatrical stage version of everything you love about the circus and everything you enjoy about the theater all rolled into one. But the best thing about this show is that the staging, costumes and styling totally transport you back in time to that wonderful bygone era of the early nineteenth century.
This fun and entertaining old world circus is brought to life by producers of the The Illusionists (the world’s biggest magic show) and the award winning puppeteers from the award winning War Horse, which results in an incredibly unique performance of nostalgia and modern entertainment that will enchant patrons of all ages, even the little ones.
This show is filled with innovative puppetry that brings elephants to life along with a talented cast of unique life long circus performers who entertain you with amazing and skillful circus acts ranging from a contortionist, to vibrant acrobats, to a mesmerizing juggler, a high wire act and so much more!
This fun-filled circus extravaganza keeps you intrigued and thoroughly entertained the entire time. I was incredibly impressed with the choreography of the entire show – what I mean by that is how seamlessly it all flowed together and how precise and calculated each and every performance was. It was like watching an impecably flawless dance unfold throughout the night.
My two favorite aspects of the show were the incredible comedic timing and finesse of Ringmaster Willy Whipsnade and the exquisite realistic puppetry of the elephants. However, everything about the show was fun and entertaining, and I say run to see it before it gallops out of town at the end of this weekend.
