The Tony Award winning musical, The Book of Mormon is now playing at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre for a limited time and it’s as Entertaining and Irreverent as ever.
Calling all SoCal musical theater buffs: If you have never had the chance to see (or you want to see it again) the nine-time Tony Award winning musical, The Book of Mormon now is your chance! This incredibly fun, irreverent and entertaining award winning musical is playing at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre now through early July and it’s not to be missed.
The Book of Mormon is an outrageous musical comedy that follows the misadventures of a mismatched pair of Mormon missionaries, sent halfway across the world to Africa to spread the Good Word and recruit new followers. And while this sounds like a pretty tame concept for a show, the fact that it was written by the creators of South Park means that you are in for an edgy, unexpected boundary pushing musical of hilarious proportions.
Gabe Gibbs plays the leading role of Elder Price directly from his stint on Broadway, which means that you are getting a top notch talent in the Pantages production. And Conner Peirson embodies all the awkward goofiness and naivete as his foil, Elder Cunningham, and they have great chemistry together. The rest of the cast is equally on par as they skillfully take you on a hilarious and provocative journey of Mormon recruitment in an obscure African village.
If you enjoy clever writing, boundary pushing content, musical comedy and you wanna laugh your ass off, go see The Book of Mormon at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre now through July 9, 2017.
