A Dry Haircut with Mika Fowler: Coiffed Like a Celebrity
One of my favorite perks of being an established beauty blogger is that I periodically get invited to experience some of the most coveted and talented beauty professionals in Los Angeles. My most recent indulgence was scoring an appointment with celeb stylist Mika Fowler at Gavert Atelier one of the hottest and hippest hair salons in LA.
Mika Fowler is one of the most sought after hair stylists in Beverly Hills, especially among some of Hollywood’s A-List celebrities. Why all this fuss about Mika you ask? Mika is a super sweet, trend savvy and uber talented stylist who specializes in the art of the DRY CUT, a cutting technique that she has developed and mastered over the years which takes a person’s natural hair chemistry, flow and bounce into account to perfectly shape each creation. This unique and finessed haircut is done on dry hair so that Mika can precisely see how your hair falls and moves and then she customizes your cut to the unique shape of your features and flow of your hair. Her inspiration for each hair creation comes directly from the client – the client’s face, style and bone structure are all taken into account prior to the first snip of the sheers.

Oscars Beauty Trend Recap: Less Is More & Old Hollywood Glamour
Last night I hosted an Oscars Viewing Party for some of my besties and we had a fabulous time sipping bubbly, enjoying tasty morsels, getting glam, watching the Oscars and gossiping about our favorite looks of the night. We were lucky enough to have celebrity makeup artist and stylist Saisha Beecham join us for part of the evening to help us get glam and recreate some of our favorite celebrity looks of the night using the latest products from COVERGIRL and Pantene.
Being a musical theater buff, I really enjoyed the musical theme of the Oscars show and the entertaining star-studded numbers, however this beauty junkie was a lot more focused on the hottest beauty trends of the night! Here is my take on the top two beauty trends that I loved last night:

As I watched the Red Carpet arrivals before the Oscars, I noticed that celebrity after celebrity was wearing lighter more natural looking make-up and softer eye make-up. It was a look that enhanced their natural beauty without being overdone and I LOVED it! This is more the kind of look that us regular women tend to wear in our daily lives.
