Welcome to Romy Raves, I am thrilled that you stopped by because today is a very special day, it’s my SITS day and I have been waiting for this day to come for a long time, Woot Woot! What is SITS you ask? So now that you are here, I’d love to tell you a little more about me and why I am so fabulous! First, I wanted to share a recent picture I had taken (probably one of the best pictures I have ever taken in my life thanks to JennKL) so you that you can get to know me better

My name is Romy Schorr and I am a Lifestyle and Beauty Blogger and a passionate beauty junkie. I have been obsessed with all things beauty ever since I was a little girl (I am now 43 BTW-beauty obsession has its privileges ). I was that little girl who went to the perfume and cosmetic counters in the department stores and got tremendous joy from collecting product samples, sharing them with my friends and using them to make me feel pretty and special. This passion evolved into being the go-to-girl for all my friends for recs on what beauty products to use, where the best facial in town was or my thoughts about the best new foodie place. Sharing resources and insider tips and tricks gives me tremendous pleasure-I LOVE every minute of it! My lifelong passion has always been to share useful information with people that can impact their life in a positive way and this organic passion has led me to Romy Raves.

On my blog, I offer in-depth thoughtful coverage of the latest and greatest beauty products, beauty trends, lifestyle events, fashion and accessories, travel, food and wine, giveaways and occasionally I will write a meaningful psychological post just to show that I have substance. My blog has also lead me to amazing opportunities like being a Real Beauty Brand Ambassador for Therapon Skin Health (and hosting super cool insider parties like THIS) as well as a recently being chosen as Brand Ambassador for Aveeno Products and getting to attend the Independent Spirit Awards this past weekend and getting up close and personal with celebs! 

I also have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology (I was a sex therapist earlier in my career) and own a full service qualitative marketing research firm called Schorr Creative Solutions, Inc. where I conduct focus groups for a wide variety of clients. I have been a professional moderator for well over ten years and have conducted hundreds of focus groups on topics like television shows, beauty, consumer products, technology, toys, food and beverages.  I love asking probing questions and exploring how people feel about things, it’s a super fun job and I get to meet all sorts of interesting people all over the country.

And most importantly of all, I have an amazing and beautiful family! I have fabulous and sexy hubby and a vivacious and passionate 7 year old son, here’s a recent pic of the the fam (also by JennKL)

I feel like a giddy school girl because I’m going to the Blogger Prom tonight and “I’m So Excited, I Just Can’t Hide It!”  Everyone whose anyone in LA social media will be there (or be square-can’t help myself!) Hello Beauty Mavens, I hope you are having a fabulous summer! Mine is flying by and I just returned from the amazing Cosmoprof North America in Las Vegas which was filled with the latest and greatest in the beauty industry, and my mind is spinning with all the beauty delights I discovered. I am totally addicted to this super fun and inspired little game that I discovered called Find It–A Contained Adventure. Basically, this is a hide and seek type of game in a tube, where a variety of fun little items are hidden among colorful beads and you have to shake, twist and spin the tube to find all the items listed on the top of the game.   This mesmerizing game is perfect for the family room or coffee table, it comes with a tally pad to check off as you find each item and you can play it alone or as a timed competition with a group.

In my opinion, the best part of this game is that it comes in variety of playful themes that appeal to different tastes like the beach, zoo, kids version, sports and even the Wizard of Oz. Each themed game contains dozens of items that relate to that theme. So cute and inspired!
