Paramount Hotel NYC: Swanky & Central

Start spreadin’ the news: My new favorite place to stay in NYC is the Paramount Hotel !! On my recent beauty trend scouting mission to the Big Apple, I was fortunate enough to be invited for a gratis stay at the Paramount Hotel in NYC and let me tell you, it was truly a treat! I have walked by this chic hotel many times when visiting the city and always have wanted to stay there, and on this visit I had my chance. So let me tell you what I loved about staying at this hotel:

 Hip & Swanky

From the moment you walk into the Paramount and get a glimpse of the gorgeous lobby you know you are in for something special. It is chic, modern, swanky but comfortable. I love this style of decor, totally my taste! And isn’t that chandelier fabulous! The lobby is so well appointed, I could have lounged here for hours because I felt totally at home in these beautiful surroundings. This is definitely the type of hotel you want to be seen in.

Central Location

The amazing central location is probably my favorite thing about this hotel. You are right in the heart of Times Square (truly the pulse of the city), walking distance from almost every theater, attached to Dean & DeLuca, next door to one of my fav by-the-slice pizza joints Patzerias, only blocks away from the deelish restaurants of Hell’s Kitchen (Amarone & 5 Napkin Burger were my favs this trip), walking distance from 5th Avenue and other great shopping spots, close to Rockefeller Center and very close to Jacob Javitz Convention Center (where my beauty conferences were being held.) It made me so happy to be in the heart of everything which allowed me to walk everywhere, I rarely needed a cab and really felt the pulse of the city-that’s what I adore about Manhattan!

Surrounded by the Neon Lights of Broadway

I am a HUGE theater buff and next to beauty, theater is another passion of mine. IMO, nothing compares to the setting, talent and energy of  a Broadway show. So staying at the Paramount, immersed in the theater district, I was like a giddy kid in a candy store. I was one block away from TKTS, the best place to buy significantly reduced show tickets and right across the street from the Tony Award winning show Billy Elliot, which I had the pleasure of seeing on this trip (I just loved the story and top tier talent in it!) This is a view of this theater from the Library Bar in the Paramount right across the street from my show. I  sat here sipping a glass of bubbly until just moments before skipping across the street to see the show, can you tell I loved this location or what?

Social Media Savvy

This is the most exciting part of my post, I had the pleasure of being offered a three night stay at the Paramount Hotel because I connected with the social media coordinators on Twitter! They saw my tweets, saw my passion for lifestyle and travel, appreciated my following/influence/professionalism and invited me to stay. In exchange, I said I would share the deets of my stay with insiders and my followers. That’s the power and magic of social media, isn’t that cool? In addition to my stay, I also agreed to host a video for the Paramount, sharing my favorite discoveries of the NY beauty shows and you can watch that fabulous video HERE.

Super Accommodating

Last, but certainly not least was the level of service and courtesy I received during my stay at the Paramount. From the moment I checked in, all the staff were nice, professional, accommodating and not pushy (being NY, this happens alot.) And when I arrived in my comfortable, modern, cozy room, they had a lovely bowl of fresh fruit and bottled water waiting for me which instantly put a smile on my face. It made me feel like a welcomed guest in someone’s home. I even had an issue with the heater in my room and after a few minutes of realizing they could not fix it, the staff effortlessly whisked me off to another lovely room.

Overall, I really enjoyed staying at the Paramount and highly recommend that you check it out on your next visit to the city. If you like swanky yet comfortable centrally located boutique hotels, this is your place.

Really cool paper lashes! That would be the perfect spot for a cool hotel!
