Being an oenophile, I adore everything and anything related to wine, so I am rather excited that June is filled with some fun local wine events that I am excited to tell you about! And in honor of these upcoming imbibing events, I thought it would also be fun to share some new wine inspired products that are sure to enhance your gorgeous wine tasting adventures this summer. Cheers!
LA WineFest 2011 This weekend, I cannot wait to sip, taste, nosh, and mingle at Hollywood’s Historic Raleigh Studios for this year’s 6th Annual LAWineFest. There will be over five hundred wines, spirits, and beers to taste (oy!) along with a fabulous assortment of lifestyle exhibitors. Dubbed “LA’s largest educational wine festival,” LAWineFest 2011 will feature the Robert Mondavi Discover Wine Tour, an interactive experience educating guests about wine and entertaining. In addition, this year the Fest will be benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.
Where & When: Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90038, Saturday, June 11th, 2-6pm & Sunday, June 12th, 12-6pm
5th Annual Calabasas Malibu Wine & Food Festival The following weekend, you will find me and my hubby at another fabulous local wine event that we attended for the first time last year, we thoroughly enjoyed it and discovered some fabulous new wines too! An afternoon of tasting great wines, beers, spirits and delicious food, all while helping raise money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. This year’s event Honors Barbara Lazaroff with a lifetime achievement award from the City of Los Angeles for Barbara’s commitment to philanthropic endeavors.
Where & When: Calabasas Inn, 23500 Park Sorrento, Calabasas, CA 91302, Saturday, June 18, 2-6pm
I discovered these wonderfully yummy little lip shimmers while scouting trends at Expo West this past Spring. This is an all natural healing lip balm with a hint of tint and shimmer. The balms contain Polyphenols, which come from wine grapes and are known to fight free radicals and prevent cell damage. They also contain Resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant derived from red wine and grape seed oil.
I love the slight berry flavor of the balms and just adore how they are described like wines and come in two packs with tasting notes for $4.99! Flavor/color combinations include: Rosé-a soft subtle pink/Merlot-a soft Berry and Champagne-a light creamy shimmer with a hint of strawberry/Bordeaux-a maroon shimmer with a black cherry finish. I think these fab little shimmers will pair nicely with my upcoming wine events, don’t you?
Drinkwel is the first daily multivitamin for healthy people who drink alcohol, what an inspired idea! These vitamins contain a unique combination of ingredients that replenishes nutrients, supports healthy liver function, and helps your body process alcohol induced toxins. Specifically, it contains: Milk Thistle, Artichoke Leaf and other botanicals to support liver health; Amino acids to help process alcohol induced toxins; Superfruits that help neutralize free radicals; Vitamin B-Complex to aid metabolism and maintain energy; and Vitamin C to support immune system function.
And here’s how it works best: you take 3 capsules with food and a big glass of water before you start drinking, and then you take 3 additional capsules after you are done drinking with another big glass of water before bed. Viola! You wake up in the morning refreshed! I have taken it before and I must admit I felt much better and less headachy the morning after some heavy drinking. I am definitely taking the travel packs to my upcoming wine fests!
This is an individual pocket sized moist towelette that removes red wine stains from teeth and lips. All that you need to do is simply wipe your teeth and/or lips with the Wine Erase Towelette and the stains will disappear. Pretty smart idea! While I love BIG inky red wines, I hate purple stained teeth. I am taking these for a spin at my upcoming wine fests so I can keep my pearly whites, WHITE!
