Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna is just as fabulous as all of their other shows with one delightful twist ~ this show highlights the beauty and power of women
I recently had the opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna on the LA Waterfront in San Pedro and I was absolutely delighted and mesmerized by the beautiful and powerful women highlighted in this spectacular production. After garnering rave reviews from Los Angeles audiences, Amaluna has extended it’s SoCal run through June 9, 2019.
What makes Amaluna so unique and special is that the underlying plot centers around a mysterious island ruled by goddesses and the show features timely themes of femininity, renewal, rebirth, balance and female empowerment and I loved every moment of this girl power show!
One of my favorite acts was the Goddess of Balance who creates an exquisite mobile of thirteen palm leaf ribs slowly and hypnotically right before your eyes. This balancing stick display was simple, elegant, powerful and something that I have never seen in another Cirque du Soleil show. So enchanting!
Another act that I really enjoyed was the Waterbowl because it was sensual, playful, ethereal and visually spectacular.
Like other Cirque shows, Amaluna featured an aerial strap act, but this one was a visually spectacular display of a fantasy-like carousel which featured beautiful female artists flying in various dimensions while moving at an intense velocity all around the stadium. It was truly amazing to watch!
Cirque is one of those shows that words cannot possibly do justice to, plus I don’t want to spoil the whole show. What I do want to say is grab your family and go see Amaluna on the LA Waterfront on or before June 9, 2019. And make sure to use LASTCHANCE for 35% off select tickets HERE.
