Can you believe Valentine’s Day is only a few weeks away? Well, it’s time to start thinking about all things sexy, romance and passion, personally I think that your sense of smell is one of the best ways to tap into your inner goddess and get you in the mood for love this season. For the last several months, I have been sniffing, spritzing and smelling my way through the many fragrances in my office and following are eight that I feel best capture the mood and passion of Valentine’s Day. xoxo
L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette ($45) for 2.5 oz.
The peony is a flower that symbolizes the beauty and femininity of Spring and Pivoine Flora truly captures the lovely aura of the peony flower and accents it with a wonderful green freshness. This romantic floral fragrance contains a peony extract from the south of France and smells light, floral, fresh and lightly musky. It seems like the kind of scent you would wear on a date night during the Spring.
Atelier Cologne Sous le toit de Paris ($175) 200 ml
This unique and inspired fragrance was made to honor the most beautiful dome in Paris. It has top notes of Moroccan Neroli and Sicilian Bergamont, heart notes of French Violet leaves, South African Geranium and Haitian Vetiver, and base notes of Brazilian Tonka Beans, Musc and Leather. This is a gorgeous complex fragrance that smells slightly sweet, fresh and sensual all at the same time. I adore the violet notes in this cologne, totally unexpected and alluring.
This is the latest Fergie inspired fragrance from AVON, just in time for you to tap into your inner Fergie and rock this Valentine’s Day! This is a bright sexy fragrance with notes of cool and refreshing herbs spiked with fresh lavender and intriguing vetiver. This fragrance will definitely wake-up your senses and get you in a lover’s day state of mind.
Alien Essence Absolue by Thierry Mugler ($128) 2 oz.
Alien Essence Absolue is a rich and modern interpretation of the original Alien fragrance with notes of black vanilla, orris, myrrh and incense. It’s warm, indulgent, sensual, a little sweet and creamy. This is a very sexy feminine fragrance that makes me think of long lingering kisses in the arms of your lover.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Coach released this modern, warm and romantic fragrance. Coach Love blends dewy petals and fresh greens with sensual woods, rich caramel and a hint of musk in a scent that alludes to falling in love. Fresh, sensual, warm and yummy!
Lotus Wei Joy Juice Perfume ($45) 10 ml
I adore the flower essence creations from Lotus Wei and was delighted when they came out with a perfume version of their wonderful Joy Juice Elixir. This is a fruity perfume that is designed to enhance joy, laughter and happiness with an infusion of bio-energetic flowers and gems. It features African daisy for playfulness, birdsfoot lotus for happiness, ease and a worry-free disposition, chocolate flower for cheerfulness, pink spirea for light-heartedness, pink lotus for wisdom and red garnet for joyful strength. The fruity fragrance of blood orange, davana (a strawberry-like aroma), marigold and rosewood induces a joyful feeling, too. It smells good and makes you feel even better!
Michael Kors Gold Rose Edition For Women ($92) 3.4 oz.
Michael Kors does it again with this delicious fragrance that possesses a blend of pink pepper tuberose and sandalwood. It’s sweet, floral, spicy, sexy and ultra feminine. It has Saturday night date night written all over it. LOVE!
Spadaro ‘Sole Nero’ Eau de Parfum ($135) 3.3 oz
This luxurious fresh scent has notes of sunny Italian grapefruit imbued with a spice accord of white pepper and cumin. It also has notes of musk, sandalwood, almond and vanilla. Sole Nero which means Black Sun, reminds me of lazy days relaxing in the sun with a slight smell of incense in the background. If you are spending a quiet Valentine’s Day staying home, this is the fragrance for you!
Disclosure: I was sent samples of all of the above fragrances for editorial consideration, but all aromatic and sensual observations are my very own.
