Did you know that you can use Johnson’s Baby Powder to solve so many of your beauty challenges? Here are 5 Fab & Simple Beauty Hacks that you can easily do with baby powder.
I adore a good beauty hack don’t you?! I am just a wee bit obsessed with conjuring up fun, easy and inexpensive alternatives for spendy beauty products and treatments. Especially when the hack is done with products that are easy to find at your local Walmart and when it’s a product that many people purchase as a bathroom essential. In this post, I’m excited to share five easy and inspired beauty hacks that anyone can do with a well-known and much-beloved product: JOHNSON’S® Baby Pure Cornstarch Powder with Magnolia Petals.
As I sat down to write this post and did some online research as well as some beauty inspired brainstorming of my own, I was overwhelmed by the myriad of uses for JOHNSON’S® Baby Powder. I have been using baby powder for years for some of the hacks that I am sharing below, but I was surprised by how many clever uses there are for this simple must-have household product. It was hard to narrow it down to just five! I hope you discover a new and inspired use for JOHNSON’S® Baby Powder from my list below and feel free to share your own inspired hacks in my comments section, I always enjoy getting suggestions from you.
It Makes an Awesome Dry Shampoo
Honestly, I think that baby powder was the OG dry shampoo before this product emerged on the beauty landscape years ago. This is probably my favorite hack because it’s cheaper than most dry shampoos and it instantly absorbs oil and adds texture and volume to your hair at the same time. All that you have to do is sprinkle a few shakes of baby powder onto the roots of your hair, rub it in thoroughly and brush it out. But be careful not to be too heavy handed with the powder or else your hair will look dull and dirty.
It Instantly Removes Shine
I love using baby powder as an instant oil absorber and skin mattifier! Whenever my skin is shiny, greasy and oily (especially in the summer time), I sprinkle a little bit of JOHNSON’S® Baby Pure Cornstarch Powder with Magnolia Petals into a little dish and I lightly dab one of my big fluffy makeup brushes into the powder and softly apply it to my shiny areas. Viola! The powder instantly gets rid of the oil and shine, and it gives my skin a nice matte finish that lasts for hours.
It’s a Great Way to Set Concealer
Not only does baby powder absorb shine and oil on your face, it also does a fantastic job setting your under-eye concealer and helps it not budge for the whole day. As I was researching hacks for this post, I tested out a hack of my own and applied a fine layer of baby powder over my concealer with a small makeup brush and was surprised to see that it worked really well! Not only did it help keep my concealer put, it also didn’t settle into the fine lines around my eyes (and make them more obvious) like most powders do. Love it!
It Can Make Your Lashes Thicker & Fuller
I had never heard about this hack before and I was thrilled to discover that baby powder can noticeably boost your lashes! It’s super easy to do: first apply a coat of mascara, then with a small makeup brush apply a fine coating of baby powder to the base of your lashes in-between coats of mascara and top the powder with another coat of mascara. You will be delighted to see that this easy little amplifying technique adds a nice amount of length, thickness and volume to your lashes.
It Absorbs Sweat & Cools Down Your Sheets
Being 50 and in perimenopause, I occasionally experience night sweats and hot flashes, not to mention the on-going playful little battle that my husband and I have over a degree or two difference on the thermostat. Needless to say, I was delighted to learn that a sprinkle of baby powder on my sheets at night instantly helps to cool it down, absorbs sweat and makes it smell good too.
I hope you learned one or two simple and easy beauty hacks that you can try with JOHNSON’S® Baby Powder. And the best part about this product is that it’s super affordable and easy to find in the baby product aisle of your local Walmart or online at Walmart.com.
