Greetings my Beauties! Sorry I have been remiss about posting lately, but summer travel has taken me away from my love. However, I am back and have many wonderful things to share with you! Please stay tuned for some exciting things coming up on Romy Raves.

First up is Caudalie, a brand that really resonates with me because it combines the benefits of the vine with beauty, two of my lifelong passions. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Mathilde Thomas, the lovely creator of the Caudalie brand and I learned about her background, brand and inspiration for these vine inspired products.

Mathilde comes from a wine making family in the Bordeaux region of France, renowned for it’s beautiful wine blends. Mathilde’s passion for the vine and natural beauty lead her to create the Caudalie brand with her husband Bertrand.

A fun little fact I learned about the brand name: Caudalie is an oenological French term that quantifies the duration of a wine’s flavor in your mouth. One second of time equals one Caudalie. The finer the wine, the longer its flavor lingers on the palate – thus meriting more Caudalies! The wine geek in me found that very cool!

What makes Caudalie so unique is that all of their products incorporate one or more of the following patented grape derived skin transforming ingredients: Polyphenols, the most powerful plant based anti-oxidant that comes from grape seeds; Resveratrol, an exceptional activator of cellular renewal that comes from grapevine stalks; and Viniferine, a natural molecule that comes from the vine sap which treats dark spots and boosts radiance.

An interesting little anecdote about vine sap that Mathilde shared with me: There is a centuries-old tradition where young women working on the vineyard would rub the sap from vine stalks onto their faces to reduce spots and clear their complexions. This was the inspiration for using the sap in Caudalie products. Love it!

Now, I’d like to share one of my latest obsessions this summer: Caudalie Divine Oil ($48)

Divine Oil is a moisturizing, nourishing, skin enhancing dry oil spray for your body, face and hair. It is made out of an exquisite blend of grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan oils which are combined with Caudalie’s patented anti-oxidant polyphenols to create a gorgeous skin loving multi-purpose oil. Grape oil contains omega-6 and is nourishing and rejuvenating; Extra Vigrin Argan Oil helps restore your skins protective barrier and maintains skin cell integrity; Extra Virgin Hibiscus Oil acts as a barrier and restricts water loss in your skin; and Sesame oil is emollient and softening.

And the fragrance is to die for! It is a magnificent complex fragrance created by a master perfumer with a dual rose top note, a grapefruit and pink pepper heart note and a cedar, vanilla and white musk base note. This gorgeous blend results in a beautifully addictive warm sultry, yet refreshing scent that makes you feel both sensual and vibrant. Love it!

Oils are tres chic right now and Divine Oil rivals the best of them! I just can’t get enough of this yummy dry oil this summer. This oil looks, feels and smells SO luxurious. I love the way it perfectly hydrates my body after the shower, it absorbs instantly and leaves a lovely sheen on my skin without being greasy. It makes my skin feel soft, supple and rejuvenated. It has the perfect hint of sensual fragrance that lasts for hours. I also like using it on the ends of my hair to combat the summer dryness.

This is definitely one of my new favorite summer products. So why don’t you do your senses a favor and get yourself a bottle today, Cheers!

Disclosure: Caudalie gave me a bottle of Divine Oil for editorial consideration, however the subtle sheen on my skin and oenophile tendencies are my very own.
