One of the best perks of my job is being invited as a VIP to some pretty fabulous industry events, and going to the the MTV Video Music Awards (aka VMAs) and pre-party last week was definitely a highlight! I was invited to take part in this year’s music video festivities by COVERGIRL, one of the top tier sponsor’s of this year’s VMAs.
A few night’s before the actual VMAs, COVERGIRL also invited me and my hubby to their VMA Beauty Block Party in Hollywood. Needless to say it was an OMG perfect night out on the town with my hubby, car service, cocktails and up close, intimate musical performances by Jessie J and Becky G. I totally fell in love with Jessie J’s fabulous pipes, gorgeous presence and infectious British charisma and I was SOOOOO close I could almost touch her
Pretty fab, right?! My hubby and I had such a fun night of dancing to her music and laughter, and a special thanks to Stacy Cox who captured these priceless pics of my hubby and I that evening
The Block Party was such a special night night, I didn’t think it could be topped, but glamming for the VMAs and attending this much touted event was pretty spectacular! Let me tell you more about it
The morning of the VMAs, COVERGIRL invited a small group of top social media influencers for a day of primping, relaxing, sipping bubbly, and getting #instaGLAM for the VMAs. This day was filled with professional pampering services that included mani’s, hairstyling and make-up, totally my kind of day!
Before any of the pro’s got their hands on me, I tried out a couple of Olay’s New Fresh Effects products to get my skin red carpet ready. I absolutely loved their tri-ball roller {Bright On Schedule!} Eye Awakening Cream because it felt cool and instantly reduced my annoying under eye puffiness and dark circles. I also really liked the {Dew Over!} Hydrating Gel Moisturizer, a lightweight hydrating energizing gel formulated with powder to absorb shine. It was the perfect way to prep my skin for a day filled with glam make-up and sun.
After my skin was prepped, my #instaGLAMming began with a fabulous, voluminous blowout & a glass of bubbly 🙂
Followed by gorgeous, glam & sultry smokey eye professional make-up application done with a variety of the always impressive COVERGIRL makeup products – OMG my eyes were AMAZING!!
Then I got dressed in this amazing leopard stunner that perfectly showcased my curves, I adore the flow & feel of this sexy dress, it was an absolutely perfect fashion choice for the VMAs! And thanks to COVERGIRL, I totally felt #instaGLAM!
After everyone was glam and red carpet ready, we boarded the par-tay bus stocked with bubbly and enhanced with flashing lights. Sooo fun! (Pictured below with my sexy partner in crime Stacy Cox)
I was pretty excited when we arrived at the newly reopened Los Angeles Forum for the VMAs because I haven’t been there since my younger concert going days (lots of memories) and of course Stacy & I had to stop and take a selfie in front of the iconic red striped exterior!
And finally after much spoiling and pampering courtesy of COVERGIRL, I finally arrived to a front row seat at the VMAs. It was fabulous, fun and a bit surreal actually being there rather than watching it at home on TV. The highlights performances of the night were Iggy Azalea’s stellar theatrical Black Widow performance and the queen Beyonce’s amazing almost twenty minute finale = FAB!
What an absolutely special and memorable night that I will treasure for a long time to come! A special thanks to COVERGIRL for inviting me to such a fabulous day.
