DHC Astaxanthin Collagen All-in-One Gel Contains An Exciting New Anti-Aging Skincare Ingredient

Being a 40 plus skincare junkie, I am constantly in pursuit of the newest latest and greatest anti-aging ingredients on the beauty landscape and it has been a while since I’ve been wowed by a skincare ingredient. Well, in the last several months I have suddenly been seeing Astaxanthin popping up on the skincare landscape and I’m excited to tell you more about it.

Astaxanthin is a potent antioxidant found in plants, algae and seafood; it’s the pigment that gives salmon and flamingos their pinkish hue and it also protects the skin and eyes of these animals from the harmful rays of the sun. Astaxanthin is 6000 times more powerful than vitamin C (WOW!) and it has been shown to significantly reduce fine lines, wrinkles and age spots.

I was introduced to Astaxanthin at a DHC Skincare Press Event that I recently attended. DHC was debuting all of their newest product launches for the media, and their new Astaxanthin Collagen All-in-One Gel ($49) face cream really caught my eye. I was drawn to the vibrant pinkish orange hue, but I was even more intrigued that this ingredient was 6000 times more potent than vitamin C!

DHC’s new Astaxanthin Cream tones, hydrates, and brightens your skin while at the same time fighting free radical damage. This multi-action gel cream contains hyaluronic acid to deeply moisturize and nourish your skin as well as collagen and elastin to strengthen and firm your skin.

After using this cream for about a month, I’ve noticed that my skin is brighter and smoother. I love the orange hue, the lightweight easily absorbed texture and most importantly that it is transforming my skin in noticeable ways. I’ll never look at a flamingo the same way again.
