When Tommy Bahama invited me to write a post about the fine art of relaxation in order to help celebrate National Relaxation Day, I jumped at the chance! I mean what’s not to love about anything having to do with relaxation? And it just so happens that I am a big fan of the Tommy Bahama Lifestyle brand because their products truly exemplify all things relaxation, and love shopping in their retail stores because they always smell like a yummy tropical vacay and put you in a good mood.

So What Does Relaxation Look Like For Me??? Well, I created the fabulous Pinterest Board pictured above to visually capture the vibe, mood, and feeling of what relaxation looks like and feels like for me. One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of relaxation is tropical sunsets, vibrant hues, beaches, cocktails and yoga, so my collage truly captures that story. Whether I am lucky enough to be on a tropical island, or more realistically creating the mood of a tropical escape by sipping the perfect coconuty cocktail while looking at a jewel-toned sunset (without a hint of urban sprawl), all of this totally transports me to a relaxing state of mind. And I have recently become obsessed with Hot Yoga, and it has also become my stress release and pathway to total relaxation as well.

Let’s not forget to mention cocktails! Nothing says relaxation better than my FAB Chillax & Cheers Tropical Blue Cocktail Concoction that I was inspired to create after Tommy Bahama’s Chillax Cocktail, soooooooo good!

Since Tommy Bahama is all about the fine art of relaxing, it totally makes sense that they are leading the charge on celebrating National Relaxation Day in style. This brilliant holiday is coming up on August 15th and in addition to it being a day that encourages us all to take time out to smell the roses and relax, Tommy Bahama will also have some great in-store promotions going on to celebrate this day like: Free soft serve ice cream at all Tommy Bahama Island locations, samples of The Chillax – the official cocktail of National Relaxation Day, live music, fun prizes to win, 20% off all in-store purchases and a relaxation themed gift with purchase. If you can’t make it to a store, you can visit the Tommy Bahama Website for a chance to win instant prizes including trips, Tommy Bahama products and more.

In honor of National Relaxation Day, Tommy Bahama is also hosting the “Summer of Go” Sweepstakes which includes an array of great weekly giveaways like airline tickets and hotel stays leading up to the big day now thru August 18th and then a FABULOUS Grand Prize Giveaway on National Relaxation Day weekend August 15th-18th which includes a 7 night stay in Hawaii, airfare and a $1000 Tommy Bahama shopping spree! This is one FREE Giveaway you do not want to miss and it’s easy to enter HERE.

So have I inspired you to celebrate National Relaxation Day? Perhaps with a spontaneous visit to the beach or maybe just whipping up a Chillax Tropical Treat? Downward dog anyone? However you choose to celebrate, I encourage you to take the time on 8/15 to slow down and relax in style. Cheers!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Tommy Bahama and all opinions are my own, however what’s not to adore about a brand that encourages you to ‘Make Life One Long Weekend’ 😉

  1. What a fun post, Romy! I had no idea it was National Relaxation Day on 15 August. I better start preparing… 😉

  2. Ah, I need to get to the beach this summer! I still haven’t made it, and I love nothing more than a good beach picnic and a long nap under a wide umbrella. Entered the contest, as I’ve never been to Hawaii and would love to have some R&R there!
