PG Oscars Girls

Last night I hosted an Oscars Viewing Party for some of my besties and we had a fabulous time sipping bubbly, enjoying tasty morsels, getting glam, watching the Oscars and gossiping about our favorite looks of the night. We were lucky enough to have celebrity makeup artist and stylist Saisha Beecham join us for part of the evening to help us get glam and recreate some of our favorite celebrity looks of the night using the latest products from COVERGIRL and Pantene.

Being a musical theater buff, I really enjoyed the musical theme of the Oscars show and the entertaining star-studded numbers, however this beauty junkie was a lot more focused on the hottest beauty trends of the night! Here is my take on the top two beauty trends that I loved last night:

LESS IS MORE: USE PRODUCTS THAT ENHANCE YOUR NATURAL BEAUTY

As I watched the Red Carpet arrivals before the Oscars, I noticed that celebrity after celebrity was wearing lighter more natural looking make-up and softer eye make-up. It was a look that enhanced their natural beauty without being overdone and I LOVED it! This is more the kind of look that us regular women tend to wear in our daily lives. Well, I was lucky enough to have a celebrity makeup artist on hand to recreate this Less Is More Look with COVERGIRL’s New Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation

This brilliant new foundation is a primer, foundation and concealer all-in-one so it smooths your skin, evens your tone, covers imperfections and even has SPF 20 – All in ONE product! As you can see from the picture above, my skin looks flawless yet not overdone and my eyes are enhanced but not overly ‘made-up’. It mirrors this more natural-like trend that I saw many of the starlets wearing on the red carpet.

I LOVED the way my skin looked and was amazed that I didn’t need a separate concealer and that this 3-in-1 product provided enough coverage of my dark circles. And Saisha also shared a great tip that she uses on celebs and that she used with me: Use one shade lighter foundation in the center of your face (cheeks & nose) to add dimension and illuminate your face.

Also as part of this trend, I noticed a lot of sexy backless dresses last night. Well, in order to keep my skin soft, youthful and hydrated (especially when I am showing more skin), I love using a hydrating cleanser in the shower like Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash This emollient body wash contains shea butter which allows you to cleanse and moisturize your skin at the same time. Two products in one, FAB!

A CLASSIC THAT NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE: OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR

This is probably one of my all time favorite looks because it makes everyone look their vintage pin-up best and many celebrities were emulating this gorgeous old Hollywood look last night. Jessica and Reese were both wearing gorgeous 1940’s loose retro glam pin curl waves and Saisha recreated a more accessible version of this loose wave look on one of my fav bloggesses Mary Hall of The Recessionista

Now, I opted for a gorgeous updo, that merged old world glam with a modern flair that Saisha called a Coiled Bun. I LOVED it and felt so Hollywood Glam with it, what do you think?

While these glamorous do’s look fabulous thanks to our pro stylist, I think the real secret to gorgeous, lustrous, red carpet ready hair is amazing home care products. I just tried Pantene’s New AgeDefy Collection (Shampoo, Conditioner, Advanced Thickening Treatment and a Rejuvenating Hydration Masque) and these products totally rejuvenated my hair! I especially love how much more volume and thickness my hair got after using this Thickening Treatment.

My friend Kim went for the full dramatic old Hollywood glam makeup look and she looked GORGEOUS! Saisha made her look really pop with COVERGIRL Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara and then used a combo of two LipPerfection Lipsticks (Hot & Tempt) to give her that smooch worthy pout – Glam-tastic!

All in all it was a fabulous night, I loved the looks, enjoyed the show and especially loved sharing movie’s biggest night with some of my closest girlfriends.
