After 1 month on PALETA, I’m down 10 pounds!
If you follow me on social media, you probably know that I have been on an incredible health and wellness journey for over a month now and honestly I have never felt better! What’s my secret you ask? It’s PALETA a Los Angeles based Farm-to-Table Meal Delivery Service dedicated to creating healthy twists on haute cuisine with ingredients sourced from local farms, cruelty-free ranches, and responsible fisheries. PALETA was created by the inspirational Chef Kelly Boyer (who’s birthday it happens to be today 🙂 ) started PALETA years ago to introduce the world to a healthier lifestyle after surviving late stage terminal cancer.
I have known Kelly for several years and have always admired her radiant beauty and have been a huge fan of her gorgeous food, so I was beyond thrilled when we decided to partner together on my wellness journey. After chatting with Kelly and Lead PALETA Nutritionist Jennifer about my food, lifestyle and weight loss goals, they decided to start me on the 14 Day Mind & Body Wellness Cleanse to get rid of toxins, bloat, bad habits and get me on the right path to a healthier me.
PALETA Mind & Body Cleanse The PALETA Mind & Body Cleanse is designed to eliminate toxins and potentially allergenic or heavily processed foods that may impair your body’s natural ability to detoxify (like sugar, gluten, & alcohol) and replaces them with low-allergy-potential “clean” foods rich in vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. The Paleta Mind & Body Cleanse was effortless to follow, clearly laid out, super well organized/labeled to perfection, tasty and satisfying. And although the portions were much smaller than I am used to, I noticed that the quality of ingredients used was top tier and super fresh which the foodie in me totally appreciated. I’m not gonna lie, the first few days were hard, pushing back food cravings, the desire for larger portions, headaches and bloating, but after 3-4 days I started to feel really good and energized.
Two of my favorite things about the PALETA Mind & Body Cleanse beyond the stellar food, were that it taught me to relearn portion control as well as the portability of the food on the program. During those initial 14 days until now, I’ve realized that I am not a horrible eater but rather that my portions have gotten WAY out of control. Seeing all of the PALETA meals and snacks in their cute portion controlled containers really helped me to realign my perceptions of portion size. It is an excellent visual way to learn appropriate portion sizes. And the individually portioned out meals and snacks also make it super easy for a busy woman on-the-go to take everywhere.
After 14 days on the cleanse, I felt lighter, cleaner, not at all bloated, rejuvenated and I lost 6 pounds. Now it was time for me to transition to less restricted eating, add back in protein (because I wanted to boost my workout regimen – more on that in my next post), a glass of wine or two on the weekends and almost no gluten (to keep sugar cravings at bay.) The PALETA team and I decided to move forward with 5 meals delivered each week, allowing me to use my new learnings on the weekends and make healthier choices.

Not only are the PALETA meals delicious and inspired but the presentation is equally as gorgeous, I often feel like I am getting little foodie presents when my nightly delivery arrives. PALETA’s food is not only pleasing to the palate but it’s a feast for the eyes as well. And being a foodie, this has been the biggest challenge with other weight loss programs, the quality of the food is often mediocre and I either get turned off or bored. And this has not happened with PALETA, my palate is constantly amused and I don’t feel like I am missing out on something better (or feel the desire to cheat!), it’s just that good!

And probably my most favorite aspect of the PALETA meal plan is that each day ends with a lovely sweet treat so that I have something yummy to look forward to at the end of the day. This is something that has been conditioned in me ever since I was a little girl, I live for my dessert in the evening and that this is part of the PALETA program is perfection! The desserts are always delicious and the perfect size to satisfy my sweet craving but not over do it. Sometimes it’s fruit, sometimes it’s nuts and often times it’s a gluten-free housemade morsel of goodness like a truffle, chocolate mousse, red velvet cupcake and my favorite so far, this divine peanut butter sandwich cookie
So I have nothing but rave reviews for PALETA’s inspired beautiful farm-to-table meals. And I am equally as excited about my second month on the plan. Over the first month, I have lost 10 pounds, gotten rid of bloat, eaten much more balanced controlled portions, worked out a minimum of four times a week and overall just feel healthier, lighter and more energized.
