I recently attended the ‘Emily in Paris’ panel at PaleyFest and it provided a wonderful opportunity to get to know the show’s cast & creators
I have been hearing rave reviews about PaleyFest for years, so I was delighted to finally be able to attend one of these fabulous events last week. PaleyFest is produced by The Paley Center for Media and it is a series of moderated panels that feature some of today’s most acclaimed, buzzworthy, and impactful tv shows accompanied by a special screening of an episode of that show followed by a panel and audience Q&A with the stars and creators of the series.
PaleyFest was designed to allow TV fans to connect with the stars of their their favorite TV shows and allow them get to know the cast and creators and learn a bit more about the off-screen/behind the scenes anecdotes of the show. This year was the 39th annual PaleyFest and it featured some of my favorite shows like This Is Us, Cobra Kai and Emily in Paris.
I was lucky enough to be a media guest of the Emily in Paris panel at this year’s PaleyFest which was the final panel of this year’s celebration of fan favorite TV shows. The evening featured: Darren Starr, the show’s Creator, Showrunner, Writer and Executive Producer and the Mastermind behind some of my all-time favorite shows like Beverly Hills, 90210, Sex and the City & Younger, Andrew Fleming, Executive Producer & Director, Lily Collins, “Emily Cooper” and Producer, Ashley Park, “Mindy Chen,” Lucas Bravo, “Gabriel,” Lucien Laviscount, “Alfie” and Camille Razat, “Camille”. People Magazine’s Janine Rubenstein moderated the panel.
Truth be told, I am an avid TV watcher and a huge fan of Emily in Paris because it is fun, lighthearted, the fashion is swoon-worthy and I love that it transported us to the glamorous world of Paris during a global pandemic. It was such a treat to get up-close and personal with the cast and get to know them better as well as hear how they feel about being part of this hit show and what it is like to shoot it in Paris.
During the panel, we learned that Emily/Lily and Mindy/Ashley have a wonderful girlie bond both on and off screen and it was so fun seeing them banter with one another. We also got to know both of Emily’s hunky love interests Gabriel/Lucas and Alfie/Lucien and in person I also fell in love with their good looks and charm. I’m team Gabriel by the way 😉
And as an extra special treat during the live panel, a note was sent to Darren Star telling him to let both the audience and the adorable and fun loving LuLucien Laviscount who portrays Alfie know that his contract has been renewed and his character will be a regular on season 3! His reaction was genuine and adorable and I can’t wait to see what they do with his storyline!
If you are a television show fan and enjoy getting wrapped up in the stories and lives of the characters of your favorite TV shows, PaleyFest is an absolute must see the next time it rolls into town. It’s a fun, insightful and entertaining way to get to know the cast and bring your favorite shows to life and I highly recommend it!
