I was recently invited to the Walgreens Flagship Store in Hollywood, CA (OMG! What a fabulous store = Heaven!) to meet the dapper, delightful, fun and genuine Tim Gunn (of Project Runway fame) and chat about beauty, fashion and the latest and greatest beauty products from P&G and Walgreens. Tim has partnered with these two established brands to host the Red Carpet arrivals for the People’s Choice Awards (PCAs) on Wednesday, January 8th at 8pm ET (show starts at 9pm ET) – which is tomorrow BTW! I can’t wait to hear Tim’s perspective and insights about the fabulous looks at the PCAs!
I spent a very enjoyable morning with Tim, a P&G Product expert and four other fabulous fashion bloggers chatting with Tim about fashion, beauty, industry gossip and learning about the exciting new products from P&G Beauty and Walgreens. Tim is totally accessible, honest and down to earth, not to mention impeccably well dressed! I loved that one of the first things Tim told us was that he really is so ‘not a fashion trends guy’ but is more about what looks good and flatters your body = LOVE! He also shared this meaningful quote from Diane Von Furstenberg as one of the best pieces of advice he ever got from an industry insider: “Fashion allows us to be whoever we want to be.“
Given that I had this seasoned fashion expert at my disposal, I just had to ask him what his top fashion must haves for every woman, especially those on a budget. He graciously shared Tim’s Top Ten Essential Fashion Items:

After spending a nice amount of time chatting with Tim, we were then treated to a VIP store tour with the resident P&G beauty expert, Marsha Chilko, North American Beauty Training Manager & Ambassador, who personally educated us about the latest and greatest P&G and Walgreens Beauty products. LOVE LOVE this product because it freshens your skin in an instant and makes it look even and flawless.
COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipstick in Bombshell I adore this universally flattering bright pink lipstick because it looks great on all skintones! And the formula is enriched with a silk moisturizing complex which sustains moisture over time and makes lips soft and smooth.
Pantene Damage Detox Weekly Rehab Cream I’m obsessed with this fabulous intense moisturizing conditioning hair treatment enriched with Mosa Mint Oil and antioxidants. This brilliant little tube helps seal damaged cuticles, instantly renews your hair, and makes it smooth and shiny.
Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream I really like this affordable and effective anti-aging cream because it noticeably reduces the appearance of fine lines, boosts hydration and brightness, and makes skin firmer and more supple. BTW this is one of Tim’s favorite skincare products and he was delighted to learn on our tour that it also comes in an unscented version for those of us that are more sensitive to fragrance.
Studio 35 Beauty Nail Polish Remover Pads I was delighted to learn that Walgreens has their own beauty brand called Studio 35 Beauty. The line has numerous affordably priced beauty essentials like these portable nail polish remover pads that quickly and easily remove polish from all 10 nails with one pad. FAB!
