My Experience Shopping Online at DERMSTORE

I recently won a fun contest from iFabbo (International Organization for Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle Bloggers) for a $100 shopping spree at Dermstore.com and the only caveat was that I had to share my experience shopping on the site in a blog post. Well, you don’t have to twist my arm to ask me to shop on one of the leading and most comprehensive beauty e-tailer’s in the online shopping landscape! So off to Dermstore I went . . .

I really liked shopping on Dermstore’s site! I found it well laid out and easy to navigate, filled with an assortment of amazing brands and products and designed to help the consumer find her way around the overwhelming and confusing assortment of choices available to her. My absolute favorite feature about shopping on the Dermstore site was the very easy to find MORE WAYS TO SHOP tab (just under the Dermstore logo, first tab on the left.) This is what it looks like

This is a brilliant feature to help guide your online shopping experience – it’s kinda like having an in-the-know girlfriend hold your hand and personally show you the best items in the store. Whenever I go shopping on a beauty site, I ALWAYS go to NEW ARRIVALS first because I am a true beauty junkie and always want to be the first to discover the latest and greatest new products.

After I checked out all the newbie products on the Dermstore site, I clicked on the TOP 10 LISTS and really liked that they narrowed it down to to the top 10 products in six beauty categories that are really on trend right now: Eyelash Enhancers, Wrinkle Serums, Wrinkle Creams, Eye Creams, Hair Masks and Natural and Organic Serums. I personally loved the Hair Mask category choices because I just got extensions, and I am really focused on keeping my hair healthy. I was delighted to discover a slew of 10 fabulous new hair moisturizing products, which surprisingly I had not tried before. That’s the kind of product curation I covet, a brand that expands my horizons!

I also checked out the AWARD WINNERS link and I was pleased to see that some of my cult favorite products were listed in this category like the Beautyblender Sponge and Alpha Beta Glow Self Tanner. And lastly, I took a a quick peek at the FREE GIFTS, to see if any goodies were enticing enough to make me want to buy a particular product.

Other features that I loved about shopping at Dermstore, was the In The Press feature which comes up in some product searches in order to showcase recent editorial features on certain products that highlights what a beauty editor loved. I’ve always trusted the word of beauty editors from credible magazines (like Allure & InStyle) and this an insider product endorsement that is a definite driver of purchase for me.

At the end of the day, I ended up with three products that I have been coveting for a while or seen recent press on and wanted to try: Elta MD UV Clear SPF 46, NUXE Body Contouring Oil & Eminence Organic Sun Defense Minerals in Cherries & Berries. I was also delighted to learn upon checkout, that I had earned two free Gifts with Purchase (2 magazine subscriptions and cleansing wipes) because I had made a minimum purchase, what a nice unexpected surprise!

And I had no problem using my $25 coupon at checkout which kept my purchase right on budget! Right after I completed my order, I was offered a special discount on a future purchase for other products that were targeted to my shopping patterns – I liked that it was an intuitive shopping site!

Overall, I really like shopping at Dermstore. It is vast site with a wonderful assortment of curated brands and it was super easy to use and even fun! I will definitely be shopping there again soon, how about you?
