The Empty Nesters is humorous and realistic play about the challenges and frustrations that couples face after their kids fly the coop
This past weekend, the hubby and I had a double date with another fun couple and we saw The Empty Nesters at the Zephyr Theatre in Hollywood, California. This hybrid dramedy centers around parents Greg and Frances who stop for a visit to the Grand Canyon, after dropping off their youngest child at college. Instead of embracing their newfound freedom, the reality sets in about the uncertainty of their next chapter.
This show is produced by and stars real-life husband and wife duo, JW Walker (producer of “The Incredibles,” “Tomorrowland,” and “The Iron Giant”) and Pamela Gaye Walker (award-winning actress of film, television, and stage). The couple have great chemistry and they deliver an honest performance about their mixed emotions and palpable awkwardness about living together and really ‘seeing’ each other in their newfound empty nest.
The Empty Nesters wraps up its month long run, this Sunday, February 17, 2019. As an added bonus after the February 15th performance, there will be a special TalkBack featuring two therapists, Gianna Maunu, L.M.F.T. and Vera Eck, L.M.F.T. and Moderated by Sarah Williams, Co-Host of the Life Changes Podcast. These experts specialize in life after kids and they will facilitate an honest and candid Q & A about relationships and empty nest syndrome. They will answer pressing questions from the audience along with the shows stars Pam and JW Walker.
