Let’s face it, we’ve all been there, bogged down by work, errands, to do’s etc. and trying to get over the midweek hump aka HUMP DAY. Can you relate? Sometimes don’t you think it would be awfully nice to take a little break during the middle of the week and steal a few moments to feel good and take time for yourself? Wouldn’t it be great to feel transported back to your relaxed summer vacay for a few moments every week? Oh how I dream about this view. . .

So in an effort to keep this feel good spirit alive during your midweek slump, I’ve created an inspiring list of 10 suggestions about how to add a little sparkle, magic, relaxation or just a little break every week no matter what day it is and no matter how busy you are.

10 Ways to Add a Little Sparkle to the Middle of Your Week


1)  Go outside, take some deep breaths and take a few moments to absorb the local beauty around you. What colors, sights & sounds do you notice?

2)  Disconnect! Go unplugged for a while. Shut down! Try to turn-off all electronic devices 1-2 hours before bedtime.

3)  Visit your local farmers market and use your senses to drink in all the gorgeous seasonal foods and produce. And sample tasty morsels to amuse your palate.

4)  Create an at home spa: Put on a yummy face mask, light some candles, play some soothing music and draw a bubble bath and add a few drops of lavender ahhhhhh. . . .

5)  Plan a GNO (Girls Night Out) midweek! Go to a great new restaurant or a local joint and gossip with your girlfriends, it’s such a treat in the middle of the week! Always puts a smile on my face 🙂

6)  Go on a hike or walk for twenty minutes to an hour, listen to music, break a sweat and just let go for those few moments.

7) Have a mentioned CHOCOLATE? Never underestimate the power of sweets to shift your mood. But always in moderation 🙂

8)  Pay It Forward: Do something unexpectedly nice for a stranger. Pay for their parking, buy someone a cup of coffee, let someone cut in front o you in line just because. It will totally make their day and yours!

9)  Go see a matinee movie all by yourself in the middle of the week just because! It will totally feel like a guilty pleasure and a nice escape just when you need it most.
