Burke Williams Steam Pedicure: A Heavenly Way to Prep Your Tootsies for Spring

Although we were blessed with a mild winter in SoCal this year, my feet have taken a beating. They were feeling dry, parched and tired after being trapped in closed toe shoes for most of the season. Needless to say, my feet were in need of some TLC in the form a fabulous hydrating pedicure to make them Spring sandal season worthy. So the timing couldn’t have been more perfect when Burke Williams invited me to try out their New Steam Pedicure treatment, exclusively available at their Torrance Spa Location. No need to twist my arm, I was SO there and rather giddy about experiencing this just-what-the-doctor-ordered treatment.

Let me tell you more about this awesome service: The New Steam Pedicure treatment utilizes a unique basin and system that replaces the use of water with steam to hygienically open pores and eliminate dead skin cells. The heat from the steam eliminates the possibility of bacteria growth and works to help the massage lotion and oil penetrate deeper into the skin’s layers leaving feet feeling soft and hydrated for days.

This indulgent treatment begins with prepping your feet with an invigorating tree tee oil mix, polish removal and nail shaping. Then a massage lotion is applied to the foot and calf, then your legs and feet are wrapped in a warm towel up to the knee and one foot at a time is placed into the wooden steam sauna basin. After each foot has steamed for a while, all the dry skin is removed with a gentle but thorough buffing and cuticle trimming. After a couple of rounds of lotion/oil/stream, comes the best part: a fabulous Burke Williams signature foot and calf massage followed by the polish application of your choice.

And not only is it a pampering treatment, but it’s eco friendly too! Each Steam Pedicure uses only 16 ounces of fresh water per service compared to water-based pedicures which flush over 118 million gallons of water down the drain annually. This makes it the perfect pedi to treat yourself to during Earth Month!

What did I think about the Steam Pedicure? OMG! I LOVED LOVED LOVED it! It was so unique, pampering and healing. I loved the use of steam to soften the skin and allow the products to penetrate more deeply, and in all honesty my feet were like buttah for days afterwards. This treatment totally revitalized my parched winter feet and it was supah relaxing too! Not only were my legs and feet steamed and massaged into nirvana, but the tech also wrapped me up in a blanket and cocooned me in a heated neck wrap too. Needless to say, it was a slice of heaven, totally relaxing and my feet were transformed.

The new Steam Pedicure is currently only available at Burke Williams Torrance for the so-worth-it price of $50, however this swoon worthy service will be launching at additional Burke Williams locations throughout the year so stay tuned!
