Holistic NutritionistaJust in time for the holidays, I’m thrilled to share this beautiful post written by my wellness muse Marlyn Diaz. Marlyn is a Clinical & Holistic Nutritionist with an amazing health and wellness practice in Los Angeles. She specializes in working with women 40 plus and is focused on helping them get their wellness, eating and lifestyle back in balance. She is a wealth of information and an incredibly inspiring woman to work with. Personally, I am beginning my own wellness journey with her right now, so definitely stay tuned on my social channels for my updates & progress. I truly hope you find some useful tips to help make your holiday season healthier this year. You can find Marlyn online HERE or you can reach her directly via email here: marlynbdiaz@yahoo.com

Try Marlyn’s ACE plan – Add in, Crowd out, Elevate Up!

ADD in omega 3 rich foods and lots of healthy fiber for gorgeous glowing skin, a beautiful body and a slimmer feel. Think wild salmon, walnuts, sprouted almonds and ground flax seeds. Omega 3’s support cellular health and fiber which helps keep you fuller longer, so less of a chance of over eating.

CROWD out the chemicals and refined sugars for greater energy, increased endurance and reduced inflammation. Instead of consuming sweet chemical-laden drinks opt for cleaner versions instead. Try vodka with a splash of sparkling water and lots of fresh squeezed lemon or lime for a vitamin c beauty pump, or create your own delicious antioxidant spritzer with a splash of pomegranate juice, chia seeds, and fresh mint.

ELEVATE up your choices for a healthier happier body and mind. When baking, swap out refined white sugar for coconut sugar loaded with beauty boosting vitamin b’s. If you love your morning Joe, like I do, switch out your regular coffee for an organic blend and add in some cinnamon for a sweet holiday, blood sugar balancing boost. If cookies are your thing (and who doesn’t love an awesome chocolate chip cookie) try making your own with better ingredients like almond flour, coconut oil and dark chocolate chips or check out an organic bakery or your local farmers market for some wholesome delectable healthier treats.

Bonus Tip! Better than Coffee Beauty Breath Break: The holidays can be hectic so remember to self-care and make space for you. Instead of adding in an additional dehydrating afternoon coffee, try taking a beauty breath break. Slow down, close your eyes, take a few deep cleansing breaths and exhale. Ahhh, you just reduced your stress hormones, released toxins and relaxed your whole nervous system.
