Every year I watch the Tony Awards show with bated breath, in hopes that I will discover an exciting new musical to amuse this longtime theater buff, and during the 2013 awards show, I vividly recall the performance from PIPPIN. It was bold, it was flashy and it was memorable, and I made a mental note that this is one musical that I didn’t want to miss. So it will come as no surprise that I am beyond excited that this provocative musical is coming to Los Angeles next week, and I am thrilled to be giving away a pair of tickets to see it! But first let me tell you a little more about this not-to-be-missed show.

PIPPIN is Broadway’s high-flying, death-defying hit musical filled with extraordinary acrobatics, wondrous magical feats and soaring songs from the composer of Wicked. This new production of PIPPIN is the winner of four 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival. This show has been hailed as “an eye-popping, jaw-dropping extravaganza” (NY1), unlike anything Broadway has ever seen!

Direct from an acclaimed run at Boston’s American Repertory Theater, this captivating new production is directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus (Hair and The Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess) and Broadway veteran Andrea Martin will reprise her Tony Award Winning role of “Berthe” in the L.A. Production. This musical features sizzling choreography in the style of Bob Fosse and breathtaking acrobatics by Les 7 Doigts de la Main, the creative force behind the nationwide sensation Traces. PIPPIN is noted for many Broadway standards including “Corner of the Sky,” “Magic To Do,” “Glory,” “No Time at All,” “Morning Glow,” and “Love Song.”
